Q. Bytheway Plumbing & Heating are traditional plumbers employing highly skilled tradesmen to complete projects of unsurpassed quality. We are a member of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineers (CIPHE) and a Gas Safe Registered company. Our tradesmen are required to attain either City & Guilds or NVQ qualifications in plumbing and heating disciplines and most are qualified and registered gas engineers. Our trainees are encouraged to follow established training paths and are supported throughout their apprenticeships. All of our operatives receive guidance and training in current health and safety at work procedures and are CSCS registered; additionally, many of our operatives have obtained a Heritage Skills CSCS card.
We have completed many successful projects for Conservation Trusts, Local Authorities, Parish Councils, Commercial Clients and Private Individuals as both prime and sub-contractor. Examples of our work can be seen as far afield as northern Europe and North America, as well as throughout the UK.
With over 30 years’ experience in the plumbing industry, we have installed many high quality bathrooms and kitchens; ranging from small cloakrooms based around a cautious budget to sumptuously luxurious bathrooms and kitchens using exotic sanitaryware and fittings. Our know-how allows us to see a project through from initial survey and design via thorough communication with the client, through specification and procurement of appliances, including finished furnishings and ceramic tiling to completion and final handover. Whatever the resources, the quality of service and installation remain the same.
We are proficient in the design and installation of commercial plumbing systems, installing both traditional radiators or modern underfloor heating using Natural or LPG gas boilers up to 75kW output. Our operatives are conversant with specialist sanitaryware and appliances for schools, hospitals, care homes and public buildings; many of our completed projects include provision for accessible and assisted toilet and bathing facilities. Many modern plumbing systems provide hot water via unvented hot water storage; this type of system is capable of producing high volumes of hot water at constant high pressure, allowing installation of modern appliances and contemporary designs and is often suited to larger properties demanding high usage. However, many smaller properties do not require high volume or high pressure and existing services may not be capable of providing minimum flow rates essential to operate modern technology; therefore, our experience in the design and installation of traditional low pressure water systems similar to those in older properties is invaluable.
